Rutland Street School Redevelopment and Refurbishment

This project involves the redevelopment and refurbishment of the Rutland Street School as a vibrant community hub. Dublin City Council’s ambitions for the project is as one of a number of significant catalysts in the regeneration of the north-east inner city. The design team came up with a creative design solution that resolves competing resources, shared community uses, universal access, fire safety works, building conservation and sustainability (A3 rating). The building has been at the centre of the local community since its construction in 1912 and is now poised to take a new role as a vibrant community focus proving a place to empower local initiatives.
